Fermez les yeux et plongez. C’est un peu l’invitation que le quatuor lyonnais Melatonin propose depuis le début de leur carrière. Pour ce nouveau titre, la formule est poussée à son extrême avec Animal et son clip. On pourrait presque compter les moutons, néanmoins, si vous faîtes ça, c’est que vous n’avez rien compris.

D’abord pensé par le groupe comme un titre assurément folk, Animal est passé en labo pour prendre une robe électronique à la manière de Mount Kimbie ou encore Fever Ray. Au final, les deux versions du titre se sont mélangées pour donner cette envolée musicale qu’on écoute aujourd’hui.
On se retrouve directement dans l’espace et c’est un vrai bonheur. Voix, guitares, synthés se mêlent dans un délire qui n’a rien d’approximatif. Une vraie trajectoire musicale tracée vers les étoiles à l’image des premières images du clip réalisé par Temple Caché (qui avait d’ailleurs mis Katerine dans les étoiles) et Studio TABASS (qui a bossé notamment avec Cocoon). La mise en image du titre renforce d’ailleurs sa puissance.
Au final, si Animal est un songe musical, on est vendredi et il faut encore bosser un peu avant le weekend. Soyez forts.
