Man/Woman/Chainsaw célèbre sa signature chez Fiction Records (la maison de The Cure ou encore St. Vincent) avec “Only Girl”. Le morceau démarre comme une version plus rock, plus nerveuse, d’un Black Country, New Road alternatif : guitare qui serpente, tension contrôlée, puis ce refrain qui explose et reste en tête longtemps après l’écoute.

Formé à seize ans par Billy Ward et Vera Leppänen, le groupe londonien a gardé cette électricité adolescente pas naïve, juste sans filtre et totalement folle et rock (en fait). Sur “Only Girl”, les Man/Woman/Chainsaw mélangent guitares tendues et rugueuses, violon, synthés et multi-voix. C’est un peu grunge, un peu art punk, un peu tout mais surtout beau.
Un premier single sous Fiction Records qui annonce une suite excitante et qui confirme que Man/Woman/Chainsaw n’est pas là pour jouer de scie sauteuse (blague de traduction).
