Avec “A Kiss From A Mother”, Marmozets balance un retour brûlant, quelque part entre punk viscéral et rock fiévreux, où les riffs claquent comme des coups de tonnerre. La voix de Becca Bottomley, toujours aussi sauvage, alterne entre cris primaux et lignes mélodiques tendues, de quoi décoller le cérumen et faire hocher la tête sans retenue. Si, si je te promets.
Après l’excellent Knowing What You Know Now (2018), le groupe de Bingley s’était accordé une pause avec mariage, bébé, respiration, la vie quoi. Aujourd’hui, Becca et Jack Bottomley retrouvent leurs comparses Sam et Josh Macintyre, épaulés en studio par Jonathan Gilmore et Andy Hawkins, pour un nouveau chapitre à haute riffs.
“Le message de la chanson, c’est d’apprendre à écouter avant de réagir”, confie Becca. “Je ne joue pas un rôle, je donne tout ce que j’ai.”
