Les Australiens de dust n’ont pas le temps pour les introductions mielleuses. Drawbacks, c’est un coup de clé à molette post punk en pleine tempe. Une basse qui gratte l’os, des guitares qui tournent en boucle comme des néons qui grésillent, et la voix de Justin Teale, traînante, presque parlée, qui balance son flot de pensées comme s’il se vidait sur le trottoir à 3h du matin.
dust et « Drawbacks », un coup de massue post punk
Le morceau ne cherche pas à plaire : il prend l’espace, il s’impose. Ça parle de doutes, de gênes sociales, de ce bourdonnement mental qu’on connaît tous mais qu’on cache sous le tapis. Sauf qu’ici, rien n’est caché : tout est balancé en vrac, sans filtre.
Avec Drawbacks, dust annonce aussi la sortie de Sky Is Falling, leur premier album prévu pour le 10 octobre chez Kanine Records. Si le reste sonne comme ce single, on est peut-être face à l’un des disques les plus intenses de la rentrée. En attendant, on remet play, encore et encore.
