Le morceau fait référence aux années 2000 et à ses diktats de la beauté et fait référence à « Gok Wan » (c’est un présentateur de télé anglais, notre Cauet à nous plus ou moins).
Riffs tranchants, basse groovy, paroles acérées et énergie brute, le morceau s’attaque frontalement aux standards de beauté absurdes des 00s. Produit par Ali Chant (qui a bossé avec PJ Harvey et Yard Act), « Gok Wan » sonne comme une révolte fun et furieuse, un cri de guerre contre les injonctions débiles qu’on nous balançait sur les écrans et dans les pages glacées des magazines.
Ce single marque le retour du groupe après plus de deux ans d’absence et annonce la sortie prochaine de leur premier album. Panic Shack entamera également une tournée au Royaume-Uni en mai, intitulée « Don’t Quit Your Day Job ».
