Après avoir lâché le mois dernier leur single “Wanna Start a Band?”(qui envoyait déja la sauce), le duo noise pop de Brooklyn Sleigh Bells annonce son nouvel album, Bunky Becky Birthday Boy, prévu pour le 4 avril chez Mom+Pop. Premier extrait dispo : “Bunky Pop”, une décharge d’énergie brute à écouter ci-dessous.
« Bunky Becky Birthday Boy » : du bruit, du sucre et un hommage
Le titre de l’album, aussi barré soit-il, cache une histoire bien plus intime. Il rend hommage à Riz, le chien adoré de la chanteuse Alexis Krauss, disparu récemment (RIP petit ange parti trop tot). “On voulait lui écrire un hymne……Un nom absurde, un condensé d’émotions. “On a perdu quelqu’un qu’on aimait, et on a accueilli quelqu’un qu’on aime,” résume Miller.
Le morceau d’ouverture, “Bunky Pop”, donne le ton : une montée de sucre sous perfusion de guitares et de batterie métallique. “On voulait capturer l’instant parfait d’un chien heureux, sans une once de conscience de soi,” explique Miller.
Du bruit, de l’electro et un chien qui rend triste, je sais pas si c’est une bonne recette. Pour ça, il faudra attendre le 4 avril.
