Après “This Is The Killer Speaking” et “The Scythe”, The Last Dinner Party poursuivent leur montée en tension avec Second Best, un troisième single qui confirme la couleur et la qualité de leur prochain album From The Pyre, attendu le 17 octobre 2025 chez Island Records.
Sur ce nouveau titre, le quintette londonien mené par Abigail Morris cette femme de classe, explore une fois encore la dualité entre mélodie aérienne et rock. Second Best garde ce mélange de théâtralité baroque et de puissance avec des harmonies vocales de qualité.
Un album annoncé comme plus sombre et viscéral
From The Pyre est annoncé comme un disque plus rugueux et organique que son prédécesseur. Il est construit autour d’un concept narratif « le bûcher » (the pyre), lieu de destruction et de renaissance mais qui n’a rien à voir avec Jeanne D’arc. l’album est produit par Markus Dravs (Florence + The Machine, Wolf Alice, Arcade Fire). Je suis curieux de voir ça en concert, ça s’annonce spectaculaire avec une mise en scène chiadée et des déguisements, à voir.
