Le trio landais, qu’on connaissait pour ses déflagrations noisy et ses riffs râpeux comme une langue de chat sur une entaille, explore ici un territoire plus sombre, plus cold, sans pour autant renier la violence du son. On y entend l’Angleterre des années 80, celle des hangars, des synthés glacés, des clubs suants de spleen. Et pourtant, ça pulse, ça vrille, ça glace même par endroits, comme si Joy Division avait pris du LSD dans un squat de Brighton avec A Place to Bury Strangers.
Produit et mixé par Ben Hampson (Lambrini Girls, DITZ, marcel), Funland est une morsure. Le genre de truc que t’écoutes la nuit, casque vissé, en fixant les néons qui clignotent sous la pluie. Et si ce single est un avant-goût de l’album à venir (sortie prévue le 10 octobre 2025 chez À Tant Rêver Du Roi, Luik Music, Cowboy À La Mode et Conicle Records), alors prépare tes oreilles à souffrir avec plaisir.
On est dans la dark wave mais pas dans la caricature. Y’a du psyché, du bruit, du chaos. Le futur est flou, le son est net. Welcome to Funland.
