Les inventeurs du post punk Gang of Four auraient dû tirer leur révérence après leur tournée d’adieu de 2025, mais le groupe a du mal à dire « c’est fini » ce qui me fait plaisir quand même. En soutien aux manifestations « No Kings », ils viennent de balancer le single « No Kings Here ! » et en bonus, ils continuent de tourner.
Alors pour ton info, il s’agit d’un mouvement de protestation contre le second mandat de Donald Trump, dénonçant la dérive autoritaire et fascisante de Donald. Il y a eu des grosses manifestations de ce mouvement aux USA ces derniers jours. Je te conseille de taper #nokings sur ton réseau social favori, tu verras. Le groupe a donc écrit et enregistré un nouveau morceau, « No Kings Here ! », avec la formation de 2025 qui incluait Gail Greenwood (de Belly) à la basse et Ted Leo à la guitare. C’est du bon post punk des familles avec un discours vindicatif à souhait.
