Le 17 septembre 2025, Portishead a fait son grand retour, non pas sur scène devant des milliers de fans, mais dans un geste artistique rare et profondément engagé. À l’occasion du concert caritatif Together for Palestine, organisé à Wembley Arena par Brian Eno, le trio culte de Bristol a livré une performance de Roads aussi sobre qu’intense, diffusée en direct pendant l’événement.

Alors vous allez me dire : c’est juste un enregistrement live pendant un concert caritatif. Je répondrai que oui mais quand c’est Beth Gibbons et ses amis, c’est pas pareil. Sa voix, c’est de la putain de magie, on est obligé d’être captivé par tant de beauté. C’est une voix qui te fait frissonner, c’est du désespoir magnifique. Donc non, ils n’étaient pas là mais quand tu écoutes,c’est tout comme.
Le concert Together for Palestine avait pour objectif de récolter des fonds pour l’organisation Choose Love, qui soutient des ONG palestiniennes sur le terrain. Dans un communiqué, Geoff Barrow expliquait :
« Nous ne pouvons pas être là ce jour-là, mais nous voulions désespérément faire partie de quelque chose, pour mettre notre voix afin d’aider à mettre fin au génocide en cours. »
